Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the NIMCET exam, a candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects in Class 12 or at the undergraduate level. Additionally, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (out of 10) in their qualifying exam. For candidates belonging to SC/ST categories, the minimum marks required are 55% or 6.0 CGPA.
Exam Pattern: The NIMCET exam is a computer-based test (CBT) consisting of 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) that need to be answered in 2 hours. The exam is divided into four sections, namely Mathematics, Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness, and General English.
Syllabus: The NIMCET exam syllabus covers topics such as Algebra, Probability, Trigonometry, Calculus, Logical Reasoning, Computer Basics, and General English and many other which are mentioned in detail below.
Application Process: The application form for the NIMCET exam is released online on the official website of the conducting NIT. Candidates need to fill in their personal and academic details and upload their photograph and signature to complete the application process. The application fee can be paid online using a debit card/credit card or through net banking.
Admit Card: The NIMCET admit card is released online on the official website a few weeks before the exam. Candidates can download the admit card by logging in with their application number and password.
Result: The NIMCET result is usually declared in June/July. Candidates can check their results on the official website of the conducting NIT by logging in with their roll number and password.
Counselling: Candidates who qualify in the NIMCET exam are called for counselling, which is conducted in multiple rounds. The counselling process involves document verification, choice filling, and seat allocation. Candidates are allotted seats based on their ranks in the NIMCET exam and their preferences.
